| Eric LaPerna is a classically trained Arabic percussionist. He studied the iqa'at (rhythmic modes) Riqq, Tabla and Duff with master Palestinian drummer Michel Merhej and Turkish, Armenian and Greek rhythmic systems with Alan Sharvarsh Bardezbanian. Eric is the Director of the Bowdoin College Middle Eastern Music Ensemble, and is a member of the Applied Music Faculty at Bates College as well as adjunct instructor of hand percussion at Bowdoin College. |

Rhythms of the Middle East Mixed Levels Class This class covers beginner and intermediate level Arabic Percussion techniques and rhythms on either the Tabla (doumbek), Riqq (tambourine) or Duff (frame drum). 5 week session $75 Drop in rate $18
Intermediate / Advanced Class This class covers the whole scope of Arabic Percussion, ranging from melodic accompaniment, classical rhythms, improvisation and advanced fingerings on the Tabla, Riqq and Duff. 5 week session $90 Drop in rate $20
Private Lessons Private lessons provide an intimate setting and can be geared toward your own needs. For all levels. $35 /hour.
